Welcome to 4th grade!!
My name is Helen Braddock and I am so excited to be teaching your child! I am originally from Columbia, South Carolina where I attended Columbia College. Go Koalas!  I graduated in December of 2016, Magna Cum Laude with my BA in Early Childhood Education and a certification in Elementary Education.  This is my fourth year of teaching! Many of you may remember me as the 1st grade teacher from 2017-2019. I moved back to SC for a year while my husband deployed for the second time and while I was away I can firmly say my heart missed my family here at HGCS! So, after a cross country road trip I am back and so happy to be teaching 4th grade!  I have been very blessed to be a part of the Howard Gardner Community school family, as the experience I have had here has been nothing short of incredible and life changing.  I am a firm believer of Howard Garnder's Multiple Intelligence theory and I try to integrate it as much as possible into my instruction. No two students are alike and therefore instruction should not be a one size fit all approach. Here in 4th we will explore various academic subjects with a hands-on approach, all within a supportive community atmosphere.  I am excited to see what this year holds! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Read to Succeed Week.

To ensure the success of ALL students, we are continuing a mandatory, structured, tutoring program for those who have been identified as needing additional support. This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for your child to really excel in school, and attendance is very important!  You should have received an email, a paper letter, and a school messenger if you child is going to be in tutoring. Tutoring begins tomorrow and will continue every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:45 to 4:45pm unless otherwise specified.
