I was born in Yokosuka, Japan, and since I was born into a U.S. Navy family, I was raised in Hawaii and many cities in Southern California. I initially studied X-ray Technology and Life Sciences but eventually graduated from San Diego State University with a Liberal Studies Major and a Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. I also studied children as learners when I was a National Board candidate, as a middle childhood generalist. I further developed my education in the fields of technology and web server security/maintenance, as a science teacher and guitar instructor.
I am a teacher because I love to teach and help students to reach their greatest potential. I am currently using my skills with Restorative Justice techniques to build meaningful relationships with my students and their families as a means for them to have a positive learning experience in my class. It is my hope that they will learn to solve problems, positively interact with others and grow through their grade level.
