I was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Chula Vista.  I also lived in Springfield, Missouri for nine years before returning to San Diego. I got my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Drury University and went straight into teaching Spanish K-5 for two years, because of the great need for it. My husband, son and I decided to move back to California to be closer to family.

I love teaching.  It has been a passion of mine since I was in my teens. This will be my 3rd year at Howard Gardner and my second-year teaching 1st grade.   I fondly recall my own second-grade teacher, how skilled she was and how much she believed in me. I learned that I could accomplish anything I desire through hard work and dedication, and I teach my students that they can do the same!  My students know they have a teacher that believes in them, instills in them a love for learning, and helps them rise to their full potential.  I am truly thankful to be able to teach at Howard Gardner Community School, and I look forward to meeting more parents and community members.
