I am so excited to be a new member of the Howard Gardner community! This is my third year working in education. I spent the past two years working at an elementary school in Ramona, as a bilingual (English-Spanish) paraeducator. While there, I supported students with their English Language Development, and supported families through interpretation and translation services. I know that families want the best for their students, and it was very important to me that any of their questions or concerns would be heard and addressed.

I received my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Spanish from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After graduation, I worked as an Activities Coordinator at a hotel where I enjoyed working with children and families. I decided to take my passion for working with youth elsewhere and started my career in education in Ramona. After my first year there, I proceeded to get my TESOL/TEFL certificate online (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I love doing what I do because I am a people person! I value building relationships and appreciate diversity. We all have so much to learn and to share with one another. Another reason I am so passionate about English Language Development is because we use language everyday, in all environments and subject matter. I want my students to learn and practice their language skills so that they can thrive and succeed in school, make deep interpersonal connections, and have a world of opportunity ahead of them pursuing any career or life path they choose.

I so look forward to being a part of this community, and building new relationships with the staff, students, and families here at Howard Gardner!
