Education is my passion. When I was eight years old, I charged 5 cents to all the children in the neighborhood to teach them English. I only knew the basic colors and numbers 1-10, but I had a classroom of six! I knew then that I wanted to be a teacher.
I started working as a preschool teacher in a private school in Los Angeles in 1988 and worked there for the next ten years. Then, I moved on to work at Palomar High School from 1998-2004. I came back to San Diego and worked as a Special Education Assistant from 2005-2020 and obtained a A.A. degree in Child Development from San Diego City College in 2018. I also obtained a Master Preschool Teacher Certificate and attended various trainings to help children with learning disabilities. I enjoy enjoy every opportunity to help facilitate the learning of the students in my care, as a 4th Grade Instructional Assistant.
On a personal note, I am a Grandma to three boys, and my youngest is expecting. So, I'm secretly wishing for a granddaughter. My spare time is spent: with my grandsons, gardening, roller skating or reading. My hobbies are traveling, collecting Peanut characters (Snoopy being my favorite) and helping those in need.
