English Learner Advisory Council

Howard Gardner Community school has parent advisory groups that serve unique purposes.

Parents wishing to attend these meetings are encouraged to contact their school site for more information.

English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC):

The ELAC is made up of parents who participate in various discussions concerning the needs of our English learner students. They provide the executive director and SSC advice on programs and services to include in the school’s SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement) and conduct a needs assessment of ELs. They meet regularly to evaluate programs for ELs and create awareness for increasing student attendance. ELAC also provides input into the LCAP and how to increase EL parent engagement. We hold our meetings monthly, offering on campus and Zoom options for all families.
