Recognized as a Master Teacher by SDCOE, I am in my 13th year of teaching, nine of which have been here alongside the esteemed teachers and staff at HGCS.  During my tenure, I’ve taught Kinder, 1st and 3rd and served as Grade Level Team Lead, on the School Leadership Team, and as Liaison to the Board of Directors.

My Bachelor's Degree is in Voice Performance from Northwestern University in Chicago and, after graduation, I worked as a professional singer/dancer/actor for ten years.   Semi-retired from performing, I opened my own computer company and ran that successfully for a long time before working for Joyce Rey, in luxury real estate.  All of that was exciting but, as trite as it sounds, I really longed to make a difference in this world.  So, I returned to school -- fulfilling a dream to become a teacher -- and received my Master’s in Education, summa cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, in 2007.

My past careers and my proud status as a world traveler inspire me to create a rich and engaging classroom connected the world around us.  An avid supporter of Howard Gardner and his Theory of Multiple Intelligences, I love that at HGCS we get to teach the whole child.  We are encouraged to take the time to get to know each student and differentiate daily, while stimulating student 'Intelligences' in both core curriculum and electives (such as robotics, theatre, yoga, American Sign Language, dance, journalism, the arts, and more!)  I am proud to work at HGCS, and of the work we do, and I love our community.  If you ever want to text, phone, email or make an appointment to meet up, please let me know.
