Here at Howard Gardner we educate the whole child, and our Special Education Department is no different. Our student’s needs drive us to be innovative with teaching strategies within our curriculum. At HGCS, we practice inclusion within the general education classroom as well as pull-out for individual and small group sessions. Currently on staff we have: a Special Education Coordinator, Education Specialist, an Education Specialist Intern, School Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and 6 paraprofessionals to support the needs of our students.

The goal of the Special Education Department is to provide tools that enable students to achieve in the classroom, and beyond. At every turn, we celebrate learning and incorporate Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences with our special education strategies. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s educational needs, please contact Kyxie Dominguez. We look forward to working with you and your student(s).
