Alexandra Barcena

3rd Grade Teacher

I am passionate about creating inclusive and dynamic learning environments where students of all backgrounds feel supported and empowered to succeed. I’ve had the privilege of working with students from preschool through fourth grade, with most of my experience in kindergarten and first grade. Now, I’m excited to be teaching third grade at Howard Gardner Community School. In my teaching, I emphasize adaptability and creativity, making use of technology and interactive tools like IXL to meet students where they are and help them grow at their own pace. I also have experience working with English language learners and students with diverse language backgrounds, which has enriched my understanding of the power of communication in the classroom. Beyond teaching, I have a deep love for art and photography, which I enjoy incorporating into my lessons to foster creativity and expression. When I’m not teaching, you can find me caring for my pets, including a curious western hognose snake, a cat named Bella, and several other unique creatures. As an educator, I am dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to shine, and I am committed to fostering a love of learning in all of my students.
