Hi! My name is Alexia, and I’m a proud San Diego native. I earned my bachelor’s degree from SDSU and went on to complete my master’s degree and teaching credential with an emphasis in Social Emotional Learning. I’ve been part of the Howard Gardner community for the past six years, including three years as the 7th and 8th grade ELA and History teacher. I live by the quote, “Students don’t care what you know until they know that you care,” which is at the heart of my teaching practice. I enjoy getting to know my students beyond the classroom, meeting them where they are, and supporting their growth by building confidence and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones as they prepare for life beyond the classroom.
