Hi everyone! I’m Kat Shaw, a lifelong San Diegan with a passion for education. I have 23 years in education, including a global experience, teaching English in Chiba, Japan. I have a BS in Criminal Justice, BS in Mathematics, and a MS in Special Education. Currently, I’m pursuing my doctorate in Education Leadership, specializing in Trauma-Informed Educational Practices. Outside of school, I cheer on the Buffalo Bills (along with all things sports!) and enjoy spending time with my amazing husband, two daughters, and our four rescue dogs (a furry pack ranging from 15 to 75 pounds!). As a family, we hike, travel, and shop 🙂 I am thrilled to be at HGCS! I believe in the potential of all students and am excited to be part of the HGCS team.
